<JT>Are you speaking of Freudian psychology? Cognitive? Behaviorism? I think behaviorism is very useful, particularly in explaining compulsive behavior, but it's incomplete. To deny that we are conscious and self-motivated, simply because these are not directly observable facts, is just plain silly. I'd describe myself as a cognitive-behaviorist.</JT>
