Though this site lists the middle name of Poe as "Allen" with an "e", the correct form of the name is "Allan" with an "a." Poe took that name from his "foster father" John Allan. However, most of the Poe sites will allow you to access them by using either name. At times even I forget the middle name features an "a" (as I did in the post below this one) and in my eagerness to supply some commentary make the "e" error. (Since I am no Moderator of this site, I am unable to amend the error after posting. I apologize for any confusions.) Sorry.
