: hey. I'm writing a paper on the influence that Fitzgerald's time abroad had on him and his writings and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on the subject. Or maybe you might know a good place for information on this topic. Any help would be appreciated

Jonathan,
You may quote me if you wish, but please do not plagerize.[the items like this I am referencing in just now]
[from the perspective of an immaginary 1920's journalist]
Spoken recently of Mr. Gatsby, "He indeed returned from the front lines of Argone[a WW1, the Great War battle, and a city in France, look that up] an Oxford scholar--perhaps an Oggsford's[rhymes with eggs, East and West]to any regular inhabitant of either Egg of New York. Removed form the forests of the trench shadows and nobility feudalism present in The Great War. A step toward Minnesota--or Texan pride and 'Oggsfordal' futility."

I am by no means an authority. I am a high school senior. What I wrote last year is entirely immaginative, with the exception of the "front lines of Argonne," which are reffered to in "The Great Gatsby."
Other hints, go to your library and read the introduction to EVERY edition of "GATSBY" they have. You never know what you might find. Also, look up where he traveled in Europe, and refer to the book "Chronicle of the 20th Century" in the reference section for news and info. on those places in the time frame of about
1919-1924. Talk to a librarian, if they don't know, ask another or a teacher. Ask around.
