: I'm doing Gatsby's illusion of Daisy and himself as an illusion. I'm also doing the illusion of the pear.
: Thanx for your help.
Gatsby's illusion of Daisy: he believed that she was still the same Daisy as the one he met five years ago. When he meets her daughter he cannot believe that she even exists. One aspect of his illusion of Daisy is that he thinks that they can continue where they left off five years ago, but Daisy has changed.
Gatsby's illusion of himself: He went from James Gatz to Jay Gatsby, and thereby created an image of himself, which he believed was real. In his library the books consist of covers only - the same can be said of Gatsby.
