: hello everyone...i need help BADLY>....i have a project to do on this book and my question is to discuss the significance of money in the great gatsby......i dont know where to start...if anyone can help id REALLY appreciate it and ill oew u BIG TIME!!! thanks :-)
Well you might start with the fact that the reason Daisy didn't marry Gatsby was b/c he had no money. She says something like "rich girls don't marry poor men." I'm probab;y quoting this wrong, so you'll want to find it yourself. Also draw the line as to how green, which arhchetypally signifies hope is also the color of meny, which to Gatsby was his hope-he felt that once he became rich enough Daisy would be his wife.
Maybe that'll help a bit.
