I suppose it depends in what context you perceive "betterment" to be....making more money, achieving status at work, becoming a media giant, or perhaps all three. There are plenty of "lifestyle" gurus only to glad to show us the way, for a price we can hold hands at their "seminars" chanting mantras, we can buy the book and/or the video, or for a more modest cost "every day in every way get better and better" at home in front of our own television.

It all seems a little trite doesn't it ?

...and pointless....when perhaps a simple, random act of kindness such as helping an old lady cross the road or asking a sick neighbour if there is anything you can get for them is probably a simpler and possibly more effective way of gaining this end.
