got some comparisons of the matrix and 1984
The Big Brother nation is almost robotic, tring to irradicate human 'nature' as the robots aim to do in the Matrix. The machines in the matrix try to degrade the human form (calling humans a 'virus'), so as to enter Morpheous mind to get the computer codes;similarly O'Brian degrades Winstons appearence to show the feebleness of this grate 'human nature' winston talks of-thus he enters winstons mind and persuades Winston to conform with the Big Brother culture.
Secondly 'Big Brother' sees all and controls all as does the matrix programming and the form sof control via mind games used by the Oricle and The Archetect. The Matrix brings up the question of whether we are in conrol of our destiny, similarly in '1984'there are issues of destiny control. We see these in Winstons admittion to the fact his death via big brother is unescapable and through the fact Winston is hopefull that there is a possibility that he can help change the destiny of the world he lives in.
Other more simple connections are the presidence of Dreams in '1984' and the Matrix Reloaded and the connections both fictions have as a waning to the world we live in today. Lastly something to think about is the symbolism of time in the matrix and 1984:in the matrix Reloaded Neo learns to see past a world without time,In the Matrix they are not sure of the date in whence they live,in 1984 Winstons time in prion is unsure as is the the years the play is set in.
