at first i thought that it was because she was different than the other two innocent girls but now i'm rethinking that because of "good old sunny" who depressed holden. so i'm not so sure anymore.
: Throughout the book Holden seems only to be attracted or drawn to women that were, or were as he remembered, vulnerable and weak. Phoebe is still a child, for example, and Jane (as Holden remembers her) is weak and innocent. But why does Sally Hayes appeal to Holden if she's concerned with being beautiful and popular? Her values are just what Holden is normally repelled by. Why is Holden sometimes attracted to her? please E-MAIL me the answer
