Leave this man alone, he dosen't want to be in the public eye so all wink and let him fall down to his isolation. If privacy is what he wants than why would you insult this man so much as to go against his only wish? He's a hell of a writer and his books are amazing, let us praise the art not the artist. Salinger remains cloaked in silence or does he? We all know that Holden Caulfield is a representation of his own personality so why patronize him? His life is in his work, respect it for it has been given most generously to us. It does not matter if we don't know his turn-ons, or what colour his bathroom is, or which is his favorite e Girl, it's all irrelevant. We have his novels and their context is far more charishable than his personal life. Leave my man Salinger alone, focus your discussions on the complexities and realities of his literature, the rest is just mundane details.
