: I'm writing a 3-4 page paper about how Joyce influenced Beckett. Would somebody please point me in the right direction of where to look for information, or be willing to provide some for me. I am having a terribly hard time trying to come up with it. I still have about 2 weeks to write the paper, but would prefer to finish it sometime this week. Thank you very much.

Waiting for Godot is about two homeless men waiting for somebody or something...and the question of what is the meaning of life...You can relate this to Stephen in A Portrait Of the Artist As A Young Man, who is trying to get out of the maze and find this different life...I conclued that as soon as you step out of one maze, you enter into another. It doesn't stop. At the end of Portrait when he writes with the dates, I think it is showing that he never left totally stepped out of the maze, instead, he entered into a new one. A lot of authors were influenced by Joyce, but you need to find where it says that...But that is just how I think the two relate...
I hope I helped you out.
