For weak people? Actually weak people are usually the ones who don't have the balls to stand alone, who are not self-sufficient to face the world without dependency and neediness. You think Rourke was weak? I tend to disagree. he wasn't afraid to do his own thing, even in the face of ridicule. In today's drone cutthroat world, that is not easy. People don't want to take responsibility for themselves. The idea of free-will and self-determination is a threat to most people, who are more content to live with security rather than individualism. As for the Capitalist system, you have failed to look at it from an optimistic viewpoint. COmmunism has failed when they thought it was capitalism that would fall. However, Capitalism is very resilient and can always reinvent itself, that's why it still goes strong. And capitalism was found on Objectivist principles, such as every man for himself. Every person is given free reign to do his best, therefore stirring the pot of competition, therefore increasing production. Today's market is not so much capitalism as it is corporatism. You also say nobody could choose that road. I believe there have been people in history who have shined with parallels to Rourke. Mostly before Christian times. Christian morality suppressed individual growth. It advocated pivity and gentleness, rather than courage and boldness. It advocated altruism and sacrifice, rather than egoism and originality. DOn't limit yourself to a one scope looking gl. Objectivism doesn't mean to say you will always succeed, no. But you can try, you can attempt to be once you realize that you come first.
