: determinism implies a creator : According to the "doctrine" of determinism, every event is caused by a preceding event. If this is true, i can trace the actions that i take now in typing this comment on this web page back as far as i wanted to with enough information. I propose that it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to trace back the causes and effects that culminated in this instant back and back and back for infinity. : Let me use an example. If i see a train going by at a crossing, and i see many boxcars going by. I see one boxcar and i see that it is being pulled by the car in front of it. I see that this boxcar is, in turn, being pulled by the car in front of it. This chain of boxcars pulling boxcars cannot go on forever. I must find the train engine at the front, or there would be nothing to pull the cars. : In the same way, there must be a proverbial "train engine" in the universe. i cannot trace back the causes of the universe infinately, it is not possible. There must be this "unmoved mover" that created the universe. This seems unfathomable, but i cannot be any other way. : If you disagree or want to talk about this, send me an email.
