It is my understand this is a breach of your privacy rights under the law.

I believe that the resolution of such scanners is not good so it is not like they can see you unclothed. You see the shapes based upon the heat they give off, and once there is some thick object like a wall or floor between you and the scanner the resolution gets even worse, so you will only see a rough outline.
