Alright, I read the book last summer but here goes-
The future seems to be dreary and very superficial, where people's values are no longer present and society hands out their emotions. If you noticed in the novel, no one had their own thoughts or ideas. They had the "whatever" kind of attitude. They believed in their T.V.s and so on, but felt uncomfortable just talking to each other. So I guess you could say that the future for the humans were less human. There was a serious lack of emotion. Montag himself didn't even know his wife anymore. He didn't love her. But although this sense of nothingness was present, there were those who still felt and still had convictions. They were going to rise against the extremeness of the society. The whole novel pretty much has the "Phoniex Rising" theme.(The phoniex died, but through the flames, it was reborn) Even though the city in the novel was destroyed and its peoples corrupted, (like I said) there were those few who would rise act upon their strength, rise up, and the city/nation/world would be reborn.
Hope that makes sense and it some help. Loved the book, so didn't mind helping! Good Luck for whatever this is for. I'm actually using this for my English Final, we're writing an essay. So long....
