The two verses in revelations are referring to the paradise of God were the river is symbolic of the life force of which we are run by. They talk about the play were all is in peace and harmony and there is plenty of fruits for everyone to live on.

I believe the significance of this verse to the book is that through the war and Montag’s house getting burnt down. He remembered this verse and knew that after all that bad stuff there is something good waiting for him at the other end of the line.
