the vast majority of christians (about 75%) agree that it
we have been saved... are being saved and will be saved
(at least for someone who actually ends up going to heaven
but all of these are in a different sence...
there are different parts of the bible speaking of
having been saved or of having to work out your salvation
with fear and trembling.... and the final judgement
in the future where people get sent to heaven....
you can also find piles of historical evidence
for this theology.... for the first thousand years of
christainity there is absolutely no one you can find
who believed that salvation merely consists of
accepting jesus christ as your personal lord and
savior and then you are saved at that instant..
this was a tradition of man invented around the time of
the reformation. both catholics and eastern orthodox
christians (which broke off from the catholic church
about 500 years before the reformation and its new
innovations occured)hold this theology...
and for some strange coincidence it just so happens
that catholocism and eastern orthodoxy are the 2 oldest
forms of christianity you can find today (pelagianism,
nestorianism and other such heresies have basically died
out)
