Whoops...I forgot to mention my thoughts on Monticello...boy, I'm scatterbrained...
I wasn't very impressed by it, really. It's a beautiful building, but there are secrets it hides that no tourist can ever behold. The guides have to go through hundreds of people per day and they just don't have the capacity to go through everything.
The mountain is , except for the big house and tourist areas. It was depressing. Our guide knew less about TJ than I did. That, too was depressing. Everything's so overrun with tourists that there is nothing to see. Even Mr. J's grave...there are people constantly there. It's all very superficial. If you're going to ia, go to Williamsburg to get a good colonial flavour.
Peace, love and the Declaration
