It's mentioned again in the Guardian Review, 8/3/03, in a letter from Tim Gorman;

'In fact, "Golden Lad" and "Chimney Sweeper" have been shown to be colloquial names used in Warwickshire in the days of Shakespeare's youth, thus making the phrase in fact a very pretty pun.'
