Thanks for clicking on the little clicky thing. It shows you're interested, which means you might be able to give me a hand...
I need to figure out the character of Ariel. I'm playing him/her (depends how you look at it; see below) in The Tempest. Great, right? There's only one problem... we're not getting the scripts until a couple of months from now. I can get the summary from sparknotes.com , and the script from other sites, but frankly I'm stupid when it comes to interpreting Shakespeare and I can't figure out how to play it.
I hate analyzing and interpreting things. I always get a different answer than everyone else. When I was in elementary school we'd get tests on the "novels" we'd read in class. (They were "novels"; if you called them "books" you got marked down.) Every test had a section on your opinion of the boo- NOVEL: What did you think of it? What was the author trying to say? How did society influence the author's work?
I invariably got marked down on the "opinion" section. I wrote the answers I thought were true; everyone else wrote something completely different. So obviously I'm not the best one to interpret Ariel. So... if you could give me a hand?
If you've actually kept reading the whole way down, I'm impressed. Thanks... and I hope you'll reply...
